Logo Beginnings

Written and compiled by Jens Muller, Logo Beginnings is a stunning collection of the registered logos from around the world. It traces the earliest registered trademarks from 1870 through to 1940. There’s a sister book, also written by Jens Muller for logos designed from 1940—1980. (We’ll save that one for another day!).

Logo Beginnings is a fabulous collection of over 6000 logos. And organised by shape, form and typography. There’s also plenty of case studies where Jenson uncovers a few hidden gems and facts. In this book review, we’ll touch on a few including Pathe, Shell and 3M.

Getting better with the B-Roll, though the sound quality needs improving! Arghhhh.
