Bob Buckley

Bob has a wealth of experience in helping individuals and organisations with personal development. Throughout his life (from Cub Scouts to management consultancy) Bob has combined his passion for continuous learning with his exuberance, sense of fun and competitive spirit. Today, he leads the team at Twelve Scholars with his drive to create the definitive guide to personal development.

For a business to grow, its people need to grow too.”

Bob is a graduate from University of Manchester (BSc Paper Science with Management). He worked in UK paper industry for 10 years specialising in operations management — he was the youngest-ever shift manager at DS Smith Plc (FTSE 100), before rapidly climbing the corporate ladder. Since 2008, Bob has run a management consultancy focused on leadership and design. A catalyst for change, he works with ambitious leaders to execute strategy, improve performance and above all — keep things simple. In 2016, Bob was appointed Operations Director within the aerospace industry — his relentless focus on learning and development was fundamental to achieving a successful business turnaround.

Bob has always been fascinated by how individuals and organisations achieve excellence. In 2005, Bob was awarded his MBA with a research project that studied decision making in world-class organisations. In 2010, he achieved his Diploma in Company Direction (IOD). More recently, Bob completed The Marketing Seminar and The Podcasting Fellowship — two online workshops designed by Seth Godin, both focused on making change happen.

In his downtime, Bob enjoys all sports, especially endurance triathlon, road cycling and snowboarding. He also has a personal library with 1,000+ books!
