In addition, you’ll be invited to our monthly mastermind. Meet like-minded leaders and discuss relevant issues. Share knowledge and gain valuable feedback.
2, YOUR LEARNING PLATFORM
You’ll receive 12 months access to the online course. Everything you need to know, everything you need to do. Lessons filmed as bite-sized tutorials. Over 12 hours of content. (Yes, we’ve gone to town with this course!)

THE ESSENTIAL SCHOLAR has been written, designed and ‘perfected’ by Bob Buckley. With 25 years’ experience in front line operations, project management and leading corporate turnarounds, Bob’s specialist subject is Leadership Behaviour Design.

1, I’m not a leader, is it for me?
We believe everyone is a leader—if they choose. Leadership is about stepping up and wanting to make a difference. You’ll soon discover that leadership is required at every level—at home and at work.
2, When will I receive access to the course?
You’ll gain access to the learning platform within 24 hours. (We haven’t quite automated this yet!) The Leadership Playbook and Leadership Compass will be sent separately in the post.
3, When will I meet the coach?
Our aim is to schedule a 20-30 minute call with Bob Buckley within the first two weeks. From experience, this is an essential step to the onboarding process.
4, How long do I have access to the course?
You’ll have 12 months access to the Learning Platform. This allows plenty of time to engage with the content, share your thoughts and interact with others. Of course, the Leadership Playbook and Leadership Compass is yours for life!
5, Is the course accredited?
Yes. You’ll be awarded ‘certified scholar’ accreditation when you complete the programme. Awarded by Twelve Scholars, the ‘certified scholar’ is a clear signal that you’ve developed the skills to make Excellence your mission.
Note—we do not seek ILM accreditation or wish to become a CIPD approved course provider. However, for CPD purposes, the course is equivalent to 60 hours of study (roughly 4 hours per week).
6, What’s the assessment criteria?
Demonstrate an ability to make a step change improvement by delivering a personal project. Evidence you're learning across each of the seven chapters. No formal exam.
7, Why do I need the playbook and online platform?
All video tutorials and online content is organised seamlessly on the learning platform.
The Playbook is different. It’s a valuable reference that you’ll go back to time again. An opportunity to switch off from your screen. A place to capture your thoughts and spark action. It brings the online course to the physical world—something that you’ll appreciate when you receive your copy.
8, Do you offer additional coaching or mentoring?
Yes. One-to-one coaching is part of this course. Please consider an alternative course or contact us to discuss your requirements. We will happily discuss your requirements, and if we can help.
9, Is there a refund policy? A money-back guarantee?
No. If your circumstances change during the course (e.g. unexpected things happen) and you’re unable to complete in time, then please reach out at the earliest opportunity.
If you’re unhappy for any reason, again—please contact us at the earliest opportunity. Our aim is to make the course the best it can be. We all have blind spots and may have missed something.
10, What about international sales, beyond the UK?
That’d be amazing! Our newsletter and podcasts are received throughout the world—especially the US. You’ll receive the Leadership Playbook and Leadership Compass via tracked international mail. Of course, the Learning Platform is accessible no matter where you live!
