Just make a decision. All they wanted was a straight-forward answer to a straight-forward question. But you chose to sit on the fence. It didn’t help things. When it comes to poor performance, nothing fuels failure more than indecision.

So make a decision—any decision. It doesn’t matter if it’s the wrong decision (we’ll learn and become wiser). Making any decision is better than making no decision.

Ambiguity is the enemy.

It helps no one, not least yourself to send out confusing messages. It sets a poor example to others. Anxiety builds. You get comfy accepting less than you deserve. It becomes a race to the bottom.

Highly effective leaders are attuned to areas that have potential for ambiguity.

If you want to make Excellence your mission, you need to get down off that flipping fence.
